CANOLFAN GERDD WILLIAM MATHIAS Unique in Wales, the Music Centre was set up in memory of one of Wales’ greatest composers, and  is located in Galeri, Caernarfon. Individual lessons, classes, concerts, and many courses are held by experts in their field. As a Centre of excellence in the community, people of any age and ability, can come to take part, or receive tuition and improve their musical skills.

“Cainc y Ganolfan” was set up to enable those who wish to support the work of the Music Centre by donating a sum of money towards some of the projects and musical activities. “Cainc” means a branch, but is also a melody or tune.

Examples of projects:

• Music introduction sessions for young children and their carers 
• Singing lessons, opera workshops, choirs and singing groups, community orchestra
• Music sessions for people with learning difficulties
• Performances, workshops and masterclasses
